Alongside his other achievements in magic, Lawrence Hass is an award-winning author, editor, and publisher of essays and books in the field.

Larry's essays on magic performance and theory have been published in world-leading trade magazines, including MAGIC, The Linking Ring, M-U-M, La Circular de la Escuela Magica de Madrid (Spain), and Hokus Pokus (Switzerland). In 1997 he received a "Special Merit Award" for the essay "The Illusion of Technique" from The Linking Ring.

In 2001 Larry received the prestigious Howard Bamman Trophy from The Linking Ring for best edited series of the year titled "The Theory and Art of Magic." Larry was also closely involved in an editorial capacity with The Magic of Ascanio books from Páginas Publishing.

In 2007, Larry published his first, full-length book for magicians, Transformations: Creating Magic Out of Tricks.

It contains five short essays toward improved performance, two longer philosophical essays on the nature of magic, and eleven pieces from Larry's working repertoire.

It contains two new performance pieces, a fabulous card force that has stunned magicians, a short essay on performance, and Larry's third long philosophical essay on the nature of magic. Only a small number of this booklet remains available, and it will not be reprinted.
