At the heart of the program is a series of visits to Muhlenberg College by world-leading magicians and theorists of the art. During their residence, these guests perform astonishing magic, teach classes, and give philosophical talks on the nature of magic as an important human experience and as a performing art.
In conjunction with the "magicians-in-residence," Larry teaches full-credit courses on magic performance and magic theory through the Theatre Arts department.
Additionally, every two years, the magic program sponsors an academic conference on the magical arts.
In selecting guests for the Theory and Art of Magic, Muhlenberg has always sought to honor master magicians and acclaimed teachers of the art. In spring 2009, this tradition will continue.
