Lawrence Hass has been teaching philosophy and magical theatre for over 20 years. He brings energy and passion to the classroom, and seeks to create a learning community in which new thoughts and life possibilities are constantly in play. As the recipient of several major awards for his teaching, Larry has been praised as "an inspirational, master teacher" who "touches souls and changes lives."
With magic performance specifically, Larry has pioneered a practical approach titled "The Five Pillars of Excellent Magic" that strengthens and enriches the performances of magicians at every level of experience. His approach helps clients and students create performances that are far more deceptive, entertaining, theatrically sound, and artistic.
Larry is frequently hired by magicians' groups and conventions to share his ideas and his magic in lectures, workshops, and mini-courses. His teaching in these settings is something of an experience: energized, engaging, and transformative. He performs and teaches his original effects, and uses those effects to illustrate practical strategies for excellent performance.
From time to time, Larry also offers "The Transformations Workshop." These are three-day, intensive experiences in which Larry leads serious performers through his "Five Pillars" approach, and carries them to a new level of achievement in their work.
Larry is also proud to serve on the Faculty of Jeff McBride's Magic and Mystery School in Las Vegas, where he offers talks, presentations, and performances from time to time.
